CBP Informs About New CTPAT Logo Available for Small Business Partners
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently sent a communication to CTPAT partners announcing the launch of a new logo specifically designed for small businesses participating in the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program.
According to CBP, this new logo reflects the agency’s ongoing commitment to supporting small business partners in strengthening global supply chain security, while allowing validated companies to publicly demonstrate their participation and commitment to CTPAT security standards.
Eligibility to use the new logo
The new logo will be available to CTPAT validated partners that:
Maintain an active validated status within the CTPAT program; and
Have 499 employees or fewer.
CBP clarified that the use of the logo requires prior authorization. Companies interested in using this distinction must complete the corresponding license agreement process with CTPAT.
Request process
Eligible CTPAT partners must:
Send an email to ctpatlogo@cbp.dhs.gov including the company name and the CTPAT account number.
Wait for CTPAT to verify the company’s validated status and employee count.
Review and sign the CTPAT logo license agreement.
Once approved, receive the official logo file from CTPAT for use according to the terms established in the license agreement.
Authorized uses
Once approved, companies may use the logo to identify themselves as validated CTPAT small business partners on:
Promotional items, such as coffee cups, pens, and other corporate materials;
Business materials, including brochures, flyers, and business cards; and
The company’s website.
Relevance for CTPAT partners
This initiative provides small businesses with an additional tool to communicate their commitment to supply chain security, compliance, and international trade best practices, reinforcing confidence among customers, suppliers, and business partners.
We recommend that CTPAT-certified companies review the requirements established by CBP and, if eligible, properly manage the authorization process to ensure the appropriate use of this new distinction.
